Everything happens very slowly in the North-East of Brazil.
I mean, reaaaaaaally slowly. One German guy here is selling some t-shirts saying "Slow Motion. Jeri" or something like that.
But things do happen sooner or later, and in a place like this, you really appreciate it when they do!
Today is a happy break-through day, and I am smelling the wind of change (or, is it just the smell of the cashew trees coming from inland?)
By the end of our first month here, we finally got some progress:
some papers moved on the tables of the local authorities;
we figured some "how"and "where" to do this, do that;
met some people from the local business community;
got misunderstood by the local (not business) community;
our website now a) exists b) looking better each day;
my boxes arrived safely from Santos;
the Imperial palm-tree outside of our window formed a new leaf;
we got sporty, we got drunk;
we cut our hair;
and we already said goodbye to one of the first friends we made here.
So, this one goes to Scott Bridges, maybe not the promptest website-creator, but definately a very fun to be with person! We always have a spare hammock for you in our garden!
